The release of Hammer, Jigsaw, Screwdriver by Rowan sees the return of the label side of Young Thugs. We’re looking forward to collaborating with good friends and local talent on a bunch of releases over the coming year.
Rowan is a Coventry-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist living in York. He performs on his own and with a band across venues around the North of England.
His songs are sometimes dark, often humourous, but always poignant - with influences ranging from traditional folk to alternative rock, and sometimes even electronica.
In 2021 he released a five-minute collection of 9 short songs called ‘a song’ (as ‘Rowan Evans’). And since then he’s been working on 100s of new normal length songs and recording a few of them in Amsterdam and York. ‘Hammer, Jigsaw, Screwdriver’ is the first of these to be released as a single, and is probably his third song that is about tools.
The artwork is by the super talented York-based linocut artist, Izzy Williamson - check out her work here.
Watch out for more from Rowan coming very soon. Hammer, Jigsaw, Screwdriver is out now on all major streaming platforms - listen here.
